Suhaimi Md. Amin a.k.a. Hamid

Born in Kampung Pagi, next to the oldest Rainforest in world, Taman Negara. Suhaimi affectionally known as Hamid is at home with nature. An avid adventurer and a keen environmentalist, Hamid is a staunch supporter of ecological conservation and protection of endangered species.

As a guide at Taman Negara, he had designed and tailored many of his own tours which include the Botanic and Nature tours, Night jungle walks, Orang Asli (Aborigines) Village tours, AGRI TOURs (Rubber and Oil Plantation) and ECO TOURs (Aquaculture and Farm) - which he owns, SwimaGro Farm in Kampung Baru (mere 10 minutes drive from Jerantut).

Even with 17 years of experience in the tourism industry, Hamid went to Switzerland to expand his knowledge in the hospitality industry. A chance encounter with the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr. Mahathir bin Mohamad in Switzerland inspired him to come back to his homeland to build Travellers' Home a 'pension' lodging concept in Taman Negara. The former prime minister admonishment encourages him to introduce Malaysia's rich culture to the world.

Together with his wife (Nurain) and his son (Sagil), Hamid brings back not only his new found knowledge but also his determination to let the world know about the splendours of his childhood playground. His objective is simply to help people to appreciate the diversity of Nature and the dynamic Culture in his homeland, Malaysia. Helping his people and catering to their needs, Hamid donates a lot of his time and money to bring education and infrastructure to his village. Thus exhibiting the heart behind Travellers' Home.

Hamid provides insider advice on how best to enjoy the trip in Taman Negara. Highly experienced, he exceeds in meeting the many needs and expectations of his guests.

Qualification
Swiss Higher Diploma in Hotel and Restaurant Management from the Swiss School of Hotel and Tourism Management in Chur, Switzerland.

A licensed Tourist Guide from Tourism Malaysia.
